Human Resources Generalist/Operations Manager at Midtown Hedge Fund

Our client, a highly regarded multi-strategy hedge fund, in Midtown, is seeking a Human Resources Generalist / Operations Associate to support their Head of Talent in all areas of HR and people operations. This role will offer exposure to all facets of the employee lifecycle — from recruiting and onboarding to performance management, reporting, and engagement initiatives. The ideal candidate is a polished and professional HR or operations generalist who thrives in a fast-paced financial services environment and is eager to grow within a dynamic, sophisticated firm. The ideal candidate will be out of another financial services firm with 3-5 years of experience under their belt.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support full-cycle recruiting, including scheduling, candidate communication, and coordination with hiring managers and search firms.
Manage onboarding processes, including new-hire paperwork, background checks, and orientation logistics.
Maintain and update HR records, organizational charts, and employee data with accuracy and confidentiality.
Assist with benefits administration, performance review cycles, and annual compliance initiatives.
Prepare HR reports and metrics, helping to identify trends and areas for process improvement.
Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries and help ensure smooth day-to-day HR operations.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Finance, Legal, and Operations to align processes and maintain compliance.
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree required.
3–5 years of HR, recruiting, or people operations experience within financial services (asset management, hedge fund, or investment banking preferred).
Exceptional organization skills, attention to detail, and discretion with confidential information.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills; comfortable interacting with professionals at all levels.
Self-starter with a proactive mindset and the ability to anticipate needs in a fast-moving environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with HRIS or ATS systems a plus.
HOURS: 8:30am–5:30pm, Monday–Thursday in office; remote Fridays.
SALARY: $125-150K base + discretionary bonus + exceptional benefits.
