Human Resources Generalist/Operations Manager at Midtown Hedge Fund

Our client, a highly regarded multi-strategy hedge fund, in Midtown, is seeking a Human Resources Generalist / Operations Associate to support their Head of Talent in all areas of HR and people operations. This role will offer exposure to all facets of the employee lifecycle — from recruiting and onboarding to performance management, reporting, and engagement initiatives. The ideal candidate is a polished and professional HR or operations generalist who thrives in a fast-paced financial services environment and is eager to grow within a dynamic, sophisticated firm. The ideal candidate will be out of another financial services firm with 3-5 years of experience under their belt.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Support full-cycle recruiting, including scheduling, candidate communication, and coordination with hiring managers and search firms.
  • Manage onboarding processes, including new-hire paperwork, background checks, and orientation logistics.
  • Maintain and update HR records, organizational charts, and employee data with accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Assist with benefits administration, performance review cycles, and annual compliance initiatives.
  • Prepare HR reports and metrics, helping to identify trends and areas for process improvement.
  • Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries and help ensure smooth day-to-day HR operations.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Finance, Legal, and Operations to align processes and maintain compliance.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 3–5 years of HR, recruiting, or people operations experience within financial services (asset management, hedge fund, or investment banking preferred).
  • Exceptional organization skills, attention to detail, and discretion with confidential information.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; comfortable interacting with professionals at all levels.
  • Self-starter with a proactive mindset and the ability to anticipate needs in a fast-moving environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with HRIS or ATS systems a plus.

HOURS:
8:30am–5:30pm, Monday–Thursday in office; remote Fridays.

SALARY:
$125-150K base + discretionary bonus + exceptional benefits.
