Legal Practice Assistant at Reputable Law Firm in Bergen County, NJ

Our client, a reputable law firm, is seeking a Legal Practice Assistant for their New Jersey office. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of legal support experience, providing assistance to attorneys in a variety of practice areas. The successful candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive, with a client-first mindset and the ability to thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced environment. Strong technical skills in Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, Excel, and InTapp are required. This is a great opportunity to join a fast-paced, renowned firm!

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provide administrative and legal support to attorneys across multiple practice groups
  • Draft, edit, and proofread legal correspondence and documents
  • Maintain and organize electronic and physical files
  • Assist with case management, including calendaring and scheduling meetings, court dates, and deadlines
  • Handle time entry, expense reports, and client billing tasks
  • Coordinate with internal departments to ensure efficient workflow and task completion
  • Perform legal research and assist with document preparation as needed
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all client and firm interactions
  • Ad hoc assignments and projects as needed

REQUIREMENTS:
  • 3+ years of experience in a legal assistant or legal administrative support role, preferably in a law firm
  • Familiarity with multiple areas of law such as litigation, real estate, corporate, and trusts & estates
  • Excellent communication skills and a strong client service orientation
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and legal document management systems such as InTapp - iManage and PowerPoint is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
  • Comfortable working independently as well as collaboratively within a team
  • BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience preferred

SALARY:
$80-$115K (DOE) + Excellent Benefits

HOURS:
8/8:30am-5:30/6pm (DOE) + flexibility if needed
